Why I Stopped Being An Astrologer and The Meaning Of My North Node

It’s been almost a year since I made my official announcement that I was going to stop doing astrology readings. After doing that and then revamping this blog, things have changed significantly in my life. For a while now, I thought it would be great to give you just one more article about this whole journey of mine. December of this year will be the official end of my first Saturn Return and it has been such a rewarding time of growth for me. Deciding to stop being an astrologer has been a part of that growth.
Many people were wondering why I not only stopped doing readings but why I decided to change this blog. There were also quite a few people who were not happy about me doing so. Among the negative responses I got, one person told me that I ruined their favorite blog due to “capitalism”, another person told me (in caps, which I hate because it's basically someone raising their voice at me) that my struggle over whether or not I should keep doing it all, like stopping my YouTu…

Astrological Things You Should Know

Those with Cardinal Rising signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) have an appearance that changes frequently throughout their lives but very much according to the place they currently are in. Being in a great relationship, being unhappy, or experiencing a lot of uncertainty can cause them to significantly lose or gain weight. Stress or lack thereof is very evident in their appearance. They will also have slimmer/thicker versions of themselves that make different impressions on others.
People with Fixed Rising signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) look pretty much the same their whole lives, give or take a few minor changes. If you look at childhood or teenage photos of them, they look almost exactly how they look now. The most comfortable in their skin of the Risings, they have less body issues than most, accepting themselves as they are. Whatever body type they are, whether they’re slim or big-boned, they’re basically going to be that way for forever.
The Mutable Rising signs (Gemin…

North Node in Aquarius: The Free-Spirited Soul

Since Aquarius is such an advanced, progressive energy and the North Node is about learning how to progress and grow, the North Node in Aquarius is an excellent placement. Personal growth can occur in exceptional and startling or shocking ways. It’s all about becoming very attuned to something bigger than yourself. Aquarius is future-oriented and having the North Node in this sign means that you can truly see a vision of yourself being a better, bigger person. In order to reach this higher self, you are overcoming the trap of your ego.
When a person has an Aquarius North Node, they also have a Leo South Node. So, you are coming from a past of wanting recognition for being special and amazing. In a past lives’ context, you were a very important person in your most recent past life. You fed off of the admiration, the applause, and the attention of other people. Leo South Node individuals were most likely famous in their past life, as politicians, performers, or public figures. You might …

E-Book: Jupiter and Saturn in the Houses (Purchase)

I once did a series on this blog about both Jupiter and Saturn’s house placements. Now, those profiles are available in my latest e-book; the last one I will be creating and selling. Also, if you have Saturn in the 7th or Saturn in the 12th, you’re getting an entirely new profile because I have rewritten both of them. Understanding your Saturn house allows you to recognize where your greatest struggles lie and how you can overcome them. Saturn isn’t easy and takes plenty of time and effort and work. But, the reward is completely worth it. Meanwhile, your Jupiter house tells you where things will unfold most positively for you. There is an effortlessness to Jupiter, though, that can lead to carelessness. We can go too far in our Jupiter house and be reminded of the need to reel it in some.
I loved the idea of juxtaposing Jupiter with Saturn in this e-book. Looking at these planets from a big-picture perspective shows that nothing is all bad or all good. There are pitfalls to positive s…

E-Book: The North Node - Your Soul's Purpose (Purchase)

The North Node – Your Soul’s Purpose is an in-depth look at all 12 North Node sign placements, as well as what it means to have the North Node in each of the houses. It is primarily comprised of the popular North Node series of articles that were once available here on Astrology Arena. Now, you can consume all of those profiles at once. The descriptions of what it means to have your North Node in each house are, however, brand-new and aim to help you synthesize the energy of the sign and the house placement. It’s crucial for you to understand what your specific North Node combination means and not focus too much on the sign or the house. The North Node is an amazing source of growth for us, leading us to our true happines and our greatest potential. With The North Node – Your Soul’s Purpose, you will gain an understanding of what you need to be truly fulfilled in life that can help you move beyond the undesirable, limiting patterns of your South Node and be all that you can be.

My Birth Chart

August 8, 1989 7:20 PM Little Rock, Arkansas

Aquarius Rising Moon square Ascendant
Sun in Leo Sun in the 7th House square Pluto and Midheaven
     conjunct South Node
Moon in Scorpio Moon in the 9th House conjunct Pluto sextile Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune trine Jupiter

I’ve always put my birth info out there because I think that it’s a part of transparency as an astrologer. I rectified my birth chart years ago from a previously given time of about an hour earlier that proved to not be accurate. This chart is completely accurate for me, both in the natal placements and past and current transits/progressions, and it’s why I think it’s most important to trust your own instinct above all else when it comes to knowing your chart is right, even if you have the time on your birth certificate. Astrology is so uncannily accurate and your chart needs to be at that level of accuracy to be the right fit.

E-Book: Aspects In Astrology (Purchase)

I am happy to share with you my latest e-book, Aspects in Astrology. I could say that I’ve been working on this for just a couple of months but, actually, it’s been many years in the making. If you are familiar with this blog, you’ll know that I previously had an entire series of articles dedicated to all of the aspects to the inner planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars). After taking those down recently, I have decided to include most of those articles in this e-book. The other profiles will be rewritten versions of the old articles (I have re-written most of the Pluto and Saturn aspects to the inner planets) as well as entirely new profiles on aspects to the Ascendant and Midheaven and aspects between the outer planets (Jupiter-Saturn aspects, Saturn-Pluto, etc.)
If you’ve enjoyed binge-reading Astrology Arena in the past, purchasing this e-book is a great way to have all of those informative articles on hand in an easy to access way.

North Node in Scorpio: The Passionate Soul

If you were born with the North Node in Scorpio, you were meant to evolve into an impassioned, empowered individual. There is a higher self within that understands and embraces the depths of life. Everyone’s North Node is located deep down within themselves. But, with a Scorpio North Node, this is a part of your soul that goes especially deep. In this life, you will realize your greatest potential when you can make life something that gets your heart pounding and your blood racing. For you, things are supposed to be a bit risky, slightly dangerous, allowing you to teeter right on the edge. It might not make sense but embracing a bit of that danger is what you’re made for. What your soul really wants is to engage in a high-wire act, with not much of a net underneath. It’s through this approach that you will embrace the emotional power that you have within.
But, what could stand in the way of this life-changing intensity? Your Taurus South Node, of course. With this placement, it is all …

Saturn-Neptune Aspects: The Healer

You are the healer in life, thanks to your Saturn being conjunct, square, opposite, sextile, or trine Neptune in your chart. Saturn tells us what our purpose is and since Neptune is so compassionate, intuitive, and spiritual, your purpose lies in being a healer. Now, this has many different connotations and manifestations. It doesn’t mean that you are going to literally heal people’s sicknesses and such with your bare hands. (Though it is possible and having faith in such metaphysical achievements is important for Saturn-Neptune people) It just means that you have what it takes to provide serenity to other people, to show them empathy in a way that makes them feel at ease or less alone, or to grant them a higher understanding of things that they can’t fully perceive. But, you will have to go through your own periods of suffering and come out on the other side in order to successfully be of service to other people in this way.

Much of this suffering can stem from your bond with your fat…

Venus-Midheaven Aspects: The Work Of Art

With Venus conjunct, square, opposite, sextile, or trine the Midheaven in your birth chart, you are becoming a real work of art. The Midheaven represents what we are striving for and Venus symbolizes all things beautiful and aesthetic. So, this indicates not only a person who will feel most accomplished when they are cultivating this sense of beauty but who will deliberately set out to do so. This makes you like an impressive painting or a lovely classical composition to be admired out in the world. It’s for this very reason that a lot of Venus-Midheaven people end up in the arts, in some manner. But, regardless of what you do with your life, you must do it with grace, poise, and style.
How we give and receive love is shown by Venus in our chart. This amorous planet being in aspect to the Midheaven indicates that you are meant to both feel very loved by the public and to express great love to the world. It can manifest in many ways. You definitely need to pursue a profession that you …
