Why I Stopped Being An Astrologer and The Meaning Of My North Node

It’s been almost a year since I made my official announcement that I was going to stop doing astrology readings. After doing that and then revamping this blog, things have changed significantly in my life. For a while now, I thought it would be great to give you just one more article about this whole journey of mine. December of this year will be the official end of my first Saturn Return and it has been such a rewarding time of growth for me. Deciding to stop being an astrologer has been a part of that growth.
Many people were wondering why I not only stopped doing readings but why I decided to change this blog. There were also quite a few people who were not happy about me doing so. Among the negative responses I got, one person told me that I ruined their favorite blog due to “capitalism”, another person told me (in caps, which I hate because it's basically someone raising their voice at me) that my struggle over whether or not I should keep doing it all, like stopping my YouTu…

Astrological Things You Should Know

Those with Cardinal Rising signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) have an appearance that changes frequently throughout their lives but very much according to the place they currently are in. Being in a great relationship, being unhappy, or experiencing a lot of uncertainty can cause them to significantly lose or gain weight. Stress or lack thereof is very evident in their appearance. They will also have slimmer/thicker versions of themselves that make different impressions on others.

People with Fixed Rising signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) look pretty much the same their whole lives, give or take a few minor changes. If you look at childhood or teenage photos of them, they look almost exactly how they look now. The most comfortable in their skin of the Risings, they have less body issues than most, accepting themselves as they are. Whatever body type they are, whether they’re slim or big-boned, they’re basically going to be that way for forever.

The Mutable Rising signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) can look different from day to day, even from morning to night. Pictures tend to not do them justice or, conversely, can make them look better than they appear in reality. So, online dating can be tricky for them, leaving others feeling surprised or tricked. Constant ups-and-downs in their weight that seem random and uncontrollable are common as well as always changing their hair or style out of boredom.

Fire Rising signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) don’t give you too much of their energy. Although they may not mean any harm, there is something rather exclusionary about them. Sometimes, it seems like they’re too busy paying attention to themselves or their loyal followers to give you a lot of their time. They’re often warm, friendly, or outgoing without over-extending themselves.

Air Rising signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) seem really chill, happy, or pleasant even when they’re not feeling that way at all. They come off as so nice, which lets them get away with murder, and have a way of making people feel special, intriguing, or understood. More interested in talking about you, you’ll enjoy conversations with them while realizing you don’t know a lot about them personally.

Water Rising signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) seem mysterious and leave you wanting more in a way you can’t entirely explain. They appear to be going through a bevy of emotions, even when they’re trying to hide it or stay calm, and have a way of bringing out different, complicated feelings in you. It feels like you have to be careful with them because one of you could end up getting hurt.

Earth Rising signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) have a way of impressing you. Whatever they’re doing, it seems sensible, well thought-out, or respectable. Being around them can make you feel like you have to try harder, especially since you will often be able to clearly sense their judgment. Even when they try to relax or let go, it seems like they are constantly grading and assessing things.

Both Venus and Mars have to do with sex. Venus tells you what makes you feel sexy and what’s sexually appealing about you, as well as what you find sexy in others. Meanwhile, Mars is how you want to have sex and the ways in which you desire sex; what keeps you satisfied sexually.

Contrary to popular belief, neither the 4th House or the 10th House represents your mother or father unless the Sun, Moon, or Saturn is in or ruling either house. The 4th House represents your family situation as a whole, which obviously includes your parents. Meanwhile, the 10th House is the opposite influence, showing how you deal with authorities out in the world, not within your family. Cancer’s house cusp in your chart is the house that determines your relationship with your mother (as well as, of course, the house your Moon is in) while the house cusp Capricorn is on represents your bond with your father figure (along with the house Saturn is in).

Because the Midheaven is naturally ruled by Saturn, it takes a long time for those qualities to manifest. The traits of your Midheaven sign and aspects (as well as planets in the 10th House) begin to blossom and emerge during your teens. But, they won’t be fully developed and mastered until you are, at least, well into your twenties or entering your thirties. For that reason, many people don’t really understand their Midheaven until their first Saturn Return. Like Saturn, this part of your chart doesn’t develop overnight and requires maturity and experience.

You should do something symbolized by and that fulfills your 12th House before going to bed for the best night’s sleep. If you don’t have planets in the 12th, look to the sign that’s on the 12th House cusp. For instance, Mercury/Gemini in the 12th could mean reading before going to sleep. Virgo or Capricorn/Saturn in the 12th could include making a to-do list for tomorrow or noting all of your day’s accomplishments. This activity should be something that brings you a sense of peace or acceptance. Doing this can significantly help with insomnia or poor sleep habits/patterns.

Also, if you want to start your day on the best foot, you should do something in the morning that is symbolized by your Ascendant, aspects to it, or planets in the 1st. If you have Cancer Rising/Moon in the 1st, talk to your mom or a loved one. Leo Rising/Sun in the 1st could mean doing affirmations in the morning to remind yourself of how awesome you are. This naturally gives you the energy you need in the morning, especially if you aren’t exactly a morning person. You’ll find that not doing these things in the a.m. can seriously throw off your day.
