Why I Stopped Being An Astrologer and The Meaning Of My North Node

It’s been almost a year since I made my official announcement that I was going to stop doing astrology readings. After doing that and then revamping this blog, things have changed significantly in my life. For a while now, I thought it would be great to give you just one more article about this whole journey of mine. December of this year will be the official end of my first Saturn Return and it has been such a rewarding time of growth for me. Deciding to stop being an astrologer has been a part of that growth.
Many people were wondering why I not only stopped doing readings but why I decided to change this blog. There were also quite a few people who were not happy about me doing so. Among the negative responses I got, one person told me that I ruined their favorite blog due to “capitalism”, another person told me (in caps, which I hate because it's basically someone raising their voice at me) that my struggle over whether or not I should keep doing it all, like stopping my YouTu…

Aquarius Rising (Aquarius on the 1st House Cusp)

With an Aquarius Ascendant, you are here to always expect the unexpected. Like the protagonist in some outlandish film, you are never truly prepared for the wild twists and turns in store for you. Sometimes, this sense of unpredictability gives you the feeling that life is a crazy, chaotic ride that you’re meant to enjoy with abandon. Other times, you feel distinctly frustrated, as if things are constantly blowing up in your face. It’s true that no one can ever totally plan for life and that unexpected things occur all the time. But, when you have Aquarius Rising, this notion really dominates your life. Your narrative can never be premeditated. More than anyone else, life just happens to you and you have to go along with it.
There are two ruling planets of Aquarius: Saturn and Uranus. The former is the traditional ruling planet while the latter, which was discovered later, is the modern ruler. I like to think of Uranus as Aquarius’ true ruler while Saturn is a potent yet subtle counte…

Sun-Midheaven Aspects: The Star

Having the Sun conjunct, square, opposite, sextile, or trine your Midheaven means that you are the star. With the Sun representing how we shine and the Midheaven indicating our public and professional life, you must dedicate yourself toward playing out this fabulous role before the world. If you don’t willingly shine, you won’t accomplish all that you’re meant to accomplish. Your mission throughout life is to figure out just who you are and how you can utilize this authentic sense of self in order to make it in society and in your chosen field. You’re meant to be the kind of star who reveals their real self to their adoring public, making everyone else seem like mere pretenders.

You will find that the spotlight is forced upon you and it comes equipped with this pressure to be great and to stand out. The world will expect you to step out on your respective stage and impress people, like some performer who is known for entertaining and wowing. It’s a feeling of pressure that you have fe…

7th House People: Reflecting and Relating

You’re a 7th House person if you have one or more natal placements in your birth chart’s 7th House. I happen to be one because I have the Sun and South Node in my 7th, conjunct in Leo, as well as Mercury conjunct Mars in Virgo here. Since my Sun is here, this house represents my essential, core self, a major element of my identity. So, I know that being a 7th House person isn’t exactly easy. It’s not a “difficult” house per se but it’s definitely not a simple house, either. This is the house of one’s relationships and when are relationships ever simple? Things here get complicated, like they do with a frustrating love interest, an unfulfilling marriage, a close friendship that’s growing apart, or a business partnership that’s unraveling. But, just how much of that is due to them and how much of that is due to you? The boundaries here are hard to trace or establish, at times, but not in the confusing, ambiguous 12th House way. It’s more so about projection. This can lead to interperson…

12th House People: Despair and Divinity

If you have one or more natal planets in your 12th House, then you’re a 12th House person. Congratulations to you because it is truly a gift to have placements in your 12th! I know firsthand because my Saturn and Neptune are in my 12th (conjunct in Capricorn). It might not seem like a gift. More like a curse, thanks to not only the difficult life experiences that come with this energy but the ways in which 12th House planets are so regularly described. But, no, you are not doomed to be a lost soul, insignificant, depressed and alone, or an alcoholic or drug abuser. However, it can definitely seem that way. It can seem as if you are just caught up in a tumultuous storm that you don’t know how to get out of, that you’re all alone and no one really cares about you, that the only way you can survive is to lean on your addictions (and those addictions do not have to be drugs or alcohol). Yet, this is the plight of a 12th House person: enduring plenty of suffering and pain because of all of…

Jupiter in the 5th House

Jupiter is the planet that represents what you believe in and the 5th House is all about creative energy. So, with Jupiter in the 5th, you have (or are meant to have) a lot of faith in your creative abilities and skills, which can manifest in so many ways! When we talk about “creativity”, people tend to think of that in terms of artistic talent. While Jupiter in the 5th House people are often gifted with these talents, they are not limited to them. Artistic skill is the specific use of creativity, which permeates anything and everything. Being creative is basically being able to make something out of nothing. So, it can touch just about anything in your life. When you’re creative, you do something with a special flair.
You inject life into what you’re touching, making it entertaining, dramatic, exciting, or colorful. Jupiter in the 5th House people are blessed with this kind of Midas touch that can turn anything into gold. It’s not necessarily cockiness, although a cocksure attitude c…
